It's official - we are now parents to a 3 month old ... it's very hard to believe just how fast the time has gone! We're nearing yet another Saturday which means Jessie is now 14 weeks old ... she's just shy of 18lbs. and is bursting out of most of her 6 month clothing and is continuing to amaze us with each new day.
In month 3 Jessie learned to reach for her receiving blankets and pull them to her mouth and she enjoyed holding on to objects placed into her hands for longer periods of time. She began reaching for toys and hanging onto them (and pulled them to her mouth in early Month 4). She will sit through story after story after story some days - and not the little 4 or 5 word board books - we're talking full, complete stories! She loves stories with lots of colourful pictures and rhythm (Dr. Seuss, etc.) and loves to help tell the story!
She had a bit of a revelation when we visited Gram and Grampie in PEI when she was given baths in the "big girl" bathtub and learned how to kick and splash like never before - and has continued to do so despite being put back into her smaller baby tub - she still absolutely loves her bathtime and is enjoying longer baths now too!
She's also beginning to show signs of a more stable routine to her day - while her daytime naps are still mostly sporatic, she goes to sleep around 7pm and starts her day around 8am with her first nap at 9:30am without fail. She enjoys a swing first thing in the morning while Mommy eats her breakfast and has become quite the pro at her Tummy Time and enjoys it as often as Mommy can squeeze it in! She's becoming quite the strong little girl and early in Month 4 proved this when placed in her BebePod and finally didn't need to be supported by Mommy or Daddy - amazing how just a few short weeks ago this wasn't possible!
We continue to be amazed by our little miracle ... below are just a few pics of our little 3 month old in her first week of Month 4 ...

Mommy placed this elephant toy on Jessie's lap all
week long and finally Jessie decided it was time to grab
him and give him a taste (see video below!)

We just can't get enough of her beautiful blue eyes!

All smiles (and chins!) in her BebePod!
