A Teachable Moment ...

As a "teacher mommy" I'm always on the lookout

for those special, "teachable moments". Seeing Jessie`s

face light up when we first walked into Niagara`s

Butterfly Conservatory was a perfect moment. She started

`flapping her wings`and could hardly get the word `butterfly`

out as she watched them flutter around her. When I managed

to get one to stay on my finger long enough for Jessie to see,

she was so careful, so gentle and completely in awe of the

beautiful little butterfly. I forget sometimes how amazing

the world and all its creatures are and love that Jessie

reminds me of this from time to time.

What a joy being a mommy is ...

Little Red Wagon

Jessie is such a ham - at Kindermusik one week, sherefused to sit on my lap for the "Little Red Wagon" song andinstead, insisted on bouncing like the wagon beside me on thefloor. When the "one wheel's off" she flopped herselfover to the side and continue to bounce along as if her"one wheel's off and the wagon's dragging" ... I tried and triedto catch her at home on video doing this and finally, last night, managed to sort of get her version.You'll also catch a glimpse of her new "fake" laugh ... hysterical! -

A Day At The Pond

We decided to enjoy a family day for our Sunday over
the May 2-4 weekend ... we took Jessie to
St. John's Pond in Fonthill to feed the ducks and
see the fishies, tadpoles, pollywogs and turtles.
She had a total blast - we will most definitely
be returning to this special spot!
