The Awakening

We continue to be excited and proud of mom as
she continues her artistic journey.
See her new promotional video below!

Signs of Spring in Thorold

Well, this is something we're REALLY not used to! Growing up in
Northwestern Ontario and PEI = snow this time of year (sorry guys!)
and even in Montreal we were in for a bit of crazy, wet, snowy, sleety
weather this time of year ... but down here where we are on
the same parallel as Northern California ... we get this:

and this is all just from our very own
yard - front and back!

Almost Crawling ...

Jessie is soooooo close to crawling! Below are a few pics
of her playing at home in the living room ... showing off
to Ken and I that we're in SERIOUS trouble VERY soon ...

On her tummy ...

On all fours ...

Watch out guys ... here I come!
She does the "Roll-Around-the-Room" and the
"Backwards Scooch" and has made a few awkward,
but successful attempts at the "Sitting to All Fours"
move ... we're just waiting for the "Forward Motor".
It's going to happen VERY soon ... within the next
week or so we think!

This weekend's "Parent Project" = Baby-Proofing!

Jessie Getting Settled

Enjoying some sweet potatoes in her new high chair!
She's a very determined little girl - she always has
to steal the spoon away and lick the food off herself!
We've taken to using two spoons just so we can trade
to save a bit of time!!

Daddy and Jessie playing with her new ball together.

Her FAVOURITE "game" with Daddy right now.
Notice the missing bootie and sock?! Silly girl ...

Chillin' in her new high chair!

Jessie enjoys a relaxed morning with Mommy
playing in the living room together!

Jessie's "Faux-Hawk" as Auntie Meg calls
it ... courtesy of Jessie's winter hat!

"Faux-Hawk!"

Jessie wore all green on the 17th in honour
of her Great Nanny Faragher's birthday -
this being Nanny "Patricia" for whom Jessie
Patricia was named!

Family Comes to Thorold!

We were SO blessed to have our families here with us for Ken's Induction Service at St. Andrew's on March 8, 2009. Ken's parents flew in from PEI, mine flew in from Fort Frances, my sister came from Waterloo as well as Auntie Cathy from London, ON and Auntie Marilyn and Uncle Lawrence from Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON.

We were also extremely blessed by friends Kathy & Terry Anderson who drove all the way from Montreal, James and Pat Knott who drove from Hickson, ON and Derek, Catherine and Baby Norah from Toronto, ON. What an amazing weekend it was! Below are just a few pics from the weekend - mostly of family with Jessie of course!

Snuggles with Auntie Meg!

Papa teaching Jessie how to crawl ... or say "Papa"...

All smiles as she snuggles with Grampie!

Enjoying a slurp of Nanny's apple!

Jessie Moves to Thorold, Ontario

Jessie was up past her bedtime one night helping
Daddy pack. She quite enjoyed her time in this box!
(Ken thought we should call this segment: 'Unpacking in
Thorold' instead of 'Packing in Pointe-Claire' ... NO this is
NOT how Jessie travelled to Thorold ... see below for our
travel pics!)

Happy Baby!

Cash quite enjoyed the piles and piles of boxes in
our apartment living room and loved as the mountain
grew and changed each day. We caught him "exploring"
on this particular day ...

Jessie enjoying her Caterpillar toy on the car ride to Thorold.
Mommy had a 100 degree F fever the day before and during the
drive which made for a loooooong day of travel, but thanks
to an amazing Auntie Meg, we were able to make the drive
on the scheduled day - Feb. 19, 2009.

More Jessie pics from the car ride ...

Having a "conversation" with Mommy ...

Thanks to a pair of walkie-talkies, we were able to
coordinate pit stops with Ken who was following us
in the Penske truck all the way to Thorold. The weather
cooperated and we were able to make pretty good time
considering the fact that we stopped at EVERY rest
stop along the way to tend to a not-so-thrilled-about-
travelling-all-day-long Miss Jessie ...

The unpacking begins! Ken is putting together our
coffee table in our new living room!

(A posting introducing our new digs will come as soon
as I have rooms organized and clean enough to take
pictures of - promise!!)

Jessie begins to explore her new home ... first the HUGE
bathroom mirror! "Who IS that other baby in there and
WHY can't I play with her fingers!?"

Caught!

Jessie grows stronger by the day - she was "scooching"
backwards when we first arrived and in these pics has
"scooched" her way right under the sofa in her playroom!

Cutie Patootie! Playing in her new playroom!

Moving to Thorold, Ontario

I know it's been a looooong time since we've posted anything on here, but it's been an incredibly BUSY time for us! We've moved to Thorold, Ontario where Ken was called to his first church - St. Andrew's Presbyterian and since arriving about 2 weeks ago, we've been busy unpacking and preparing for his Induction which was last night. Now that we're a bit more settled, hopefully we can resume our postings a little more regularly! I have a bunch of things that I'd like to post as a re-cap of the past few week and will do this soon!!

Jolly Raspberries!

Product Placement

While on a visit to Westwood High School to visit colleagues,
Jessie decided she'd be a great model for the next
Tim Horton's ad campaign ...

She actually got a little taste of coffee when she
tipped the cup - let's just say she wasn't too
impressed with the taste yet (thankfully!)

How can Tim's resist such an adorable little
model? She even managed to get the logo (almost!)
all the way in!

Jessie's 6th Month (and counting ...)

We can't believe Jessie is almost 6 months old ...
Here are a few pics of our growing girl
from the past month at our home in Pointe-Claire.

Hanging with Mommy & Daddy while they cook supper.
She enjoys time in her BebePod on the kitchen counter ...

Yummy fingers!

Yummy thumb!

Happy little girl!

Jessie showing off her "Grateful Red" gDiaper. She's a cutie!

Thoughtful pose ...

Our little "china doll" ... she has such thoughtful little looks ...

Our "big girl" sitting up all by herself now ...

Silly girl with the blankie in her mouth ...

Those eyes ...

Look at my new tooth everyone!!

Ken had Jessie on his lap and she reached for the
saucer - he stood her up and she grabbed on and
proceeded to hold herself up all on her own! She'll be
running around here in no time!!
